What is a fragrance decant and how is it different from a full retail bottle?

A decant is a smaller portion of a fragrance taken from the original bottle and transferred into a separate atomizer. It allows customers to try or travel with a scent without purchasing a full-size bottle.

Can I return my sample/decant?

Our decants are offered in glass bottles with a screw on atomizer. Thus, they are not tamper resistant. Due to this, we do not accept returns under any circumstances. Please double-check your cart before placing your order. The idea of purchasing a sample is to determine if you like the scent before committing to buying a full bottle, so we cannot accept returns if you don't like the fragrance. Any and all requests to return your decant(s) will be denied with no exceptions. Skin chemistry plays a big role in fragrance longevity and projection, some may last for 4 hours on skin and others may claim to get 8 hours or more. A lack of performance does not indicate an inauthentic, inaccurate, or expired fragrance. From time to time, fragrances can undergo reformulations — your favorite fragrance from 10 years ago may not smell and perform the same as you remembered it. Any and all requests for refunds due to performance variations will be denied with no exceptions.

Are your decants authentic and sourced from genuine bottles?

We guarantee that all our fragrances are 100% authentic. We have built a business around locating the best fragrance deals in stores and online. The best deals always sell out quickly, we spend hours per day scouring all of the major suppliers looking for the best prices. Using this we can pass the savings on to you when it comes to sampling a fragrance before you buy a full bottle.

Can I change my order?

For decant orders, we start processing your order as soon as we receive it to provide the quickest turnaround time we can. Please double-check your cart before placing your order as cancellations are not guaranteed.

When you place an order for any merchandise item, it will be sent to our production team after 24 hours. We do it this way to provide a grace period in case you made a mistake or would like to cancel, though cancellations are not guaranteed. After 24 hours, your order cannot be changed, canceled or modified. Please contact us within 24 hours of placing your order if you need to make alterations.

What size decants do you offer, and how long will they last?

We offer two sizes, 3ml and 5ml. Usage depends on how often you spray, but a general rule of thumb is that you can get about 10 to 12 sprays per ml.

How are the decants packaged and shipped?

Our fragrance samples are transferred directly from the retail bottle to the glass decant, then sealed and shipped to you. All decants are filled with a small air gap to allow for expansion during shipping, the amount ordered will still be accurate. All our fragrances are purchased brand new and are guaranteed to be 100% fresh. Joe A’s Decants rebottles the original fragrance directly from the manufacturer's bottle into smaller samples/decants. Samples/decants do not come in the original manufacturers’ packaging.

Disclaimer: If you are going to question the authenticity of our samples, then please do not order and use a different service instead. When buyers go into a purchase with the idea that the item may be "fake", then they have usually convinced themselves that it is before even smelling it. You have our guarantee that our fragrances are 100% authentic. By submitting your order, you agree to our authenticity promise. We do not under any circumstances offer refunds, returns or exchanges, or any sort of compensation due to the buyer thinking that what they received is inauthentic.

Can I request a specific fragrance not currently listed on your site?

Absolutely! You can talk to us through our "Contact Us" page. We welcome special requests and will do our best to source or decant the fragrance you're looking for.

When will my order ship?

For decant orders, we do our best to have everything filled and ready to be shipped by next business day. However, during periods of high demand, please allow a couple business days for your items to ship. If your order hasn't been fulfilled after a few days, feel free to contact us and we'll look into it for you!

All merchandise items are made to order, please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery.

It's important to monitor your spam/junk email folder. If you haven't received an email with tracking information, it likely ended up there.

Why is my package late?

We do our best to ship all orders same-day or next business day (Monday-Saturday.) It's important to note that once we hand off your package, it is completely out of our control. Delivery times listed on our websites are estimates only, and not guaranteed. We cannot control the speed at which your package moves through the network and can only provide an estimate for your convenience. Each order is shipped with a tracking number that you can reference at any point while you wait for your order to arrive. If your order is delayed, you may contact the carrier and ask for a resolution; remember that we have the same information as you do and cannot speed up/track down delayed packages. Any and all requests for refunds/reimbursements for late packages will be denied with no exceptions.

My sample/decant was damaged, lost or stolen! Now what?

We package each decant by hand and do our best to make sure it is protected. However, sometimes shipping carriers have other plans. If your decant arrived broken or experienced leaking, contact us and we'll refund your order ASAP. We take care of our customers and will resolve any and all issues within 1-2 business days. We reply to all claims, if you haven't heard back from us our email likely ended up in your spam/junk folder.

We offer the ability for customers to purchase shipping protection. It is the responsibility of the buyer to purchase shipping protection at the time of placing your order. If your package is lost or stolen, we issue a replacement or refund. If you choose to remove shipping protection from your order, and your order was lost or stolen, we will not provide a replacement or refund of your items under any circumstances. By removing shipping protection, you hereby agree to assume responsibility if your package is lost or stolen. Joe A’s Decants LLC is not liable for lost or stolen items and all claims will need to go through the shipping carrier.

My package is delayed in transit. What's next?

Unfortunately, delays happen. These are out of our control and there's nothing that can be done about it. Each order is shipped with a tracking number that you can reference at any point while you wait for your order to arrive. If your order is delayed, you may contact the shipping carrier and ask for a resolution; remember that we only have the same information as you do and we can not speed up/track down delayed packages. Delayed package claims are to be submitted to the carrier and not us.

My order is being held at the post office, what do I do?

We handle everything right up to dropping the package off for shipping. Everything after this is in the hands of the shipping carrier and all issues will need to be resolved with them. If your package is being held, you can likely walk into the post office and pick it up, or they may reattempt delivery the following business day. We will not reach out to your local post office to resolve delivery issues. This is why we strongly recommend purchasing shipping insurance. Joe A’s Decants does not, under any circumstances, warranty lost or stolen packages and all claims will need to go through the shipping carrier.

Do you ship to Canada?

No, we no longer ship to Canada. Maybe sometime in the future, but not presently.
